FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pharmacology and cardiology, and can be used to study heart rate variability (HRV) in the patients with atrial fibrillation accompanying an antiarrhythmic therapy. Spectral analysis of HRV is performed. An antiarrhythmic therapy with class III amiodarone or β-adrenergic blocking agent bisoprolol, against which such HRV values are evaluated, such as: total power of oscillation spectrum of intervals RR (TP, ms2), power spectrum of intervals RR in very low frequency range of 0.04–0.003 Hz (VLF, ms2), power spectrum of intervals RR in low frequency of 0.15–0.04 Hz (LF, ms2), power spectrum of intervals RR in high frequency region 0.4–0.15 Hz (HF, ms2) and sympatho-vagal index (LF/HF).
EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to obtain an idea of the effect of the autonomous nervous system on cardiac activity, namely activity of the sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of the vegetative nervous system, as well as participation of humoral mechanisms in regulation of cardiac rhythm by examining the HRV by spectral analysis with underlying antiarrhythmic therapy.
