FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves writing 5 min long electrocardiogram intervals in lying dorsal position under arbitrary breathing type during active orthostatic test and deep breathing test. Variation spread, standard and mean square deviation, very low frequencies share in general power spectrum in active orthostatic test and deep breathing test and sums of high and low frequencies share in general power spectrum in deep breathing test are studied. The obtained values are used for calculating sudden death prognostic index. The sudden death prognostic index value is interpreted in terms of sudden death risk.
