FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting control systems. Result is achieved due to that control system (4) for controlling lighting devices (30, 31, 32, 33) belonging to different zones of lighting system (1) is intended to control lighting devices in accordance with lighting command, wherein control system (4) sets required power levels depending on occupancy information, which indicates occupancy of said zones such that different lighting devices (30, 31, 32, 33) are set to their required power levels at different times, even in case the supplied illumination command requests installation of lighting devices at their respective required power levels substantially simultaneously. This makes it possible to reduce, for example, probability of fuses blowing or damage to lighting system components, wherein, due to recording of occupancy information, delay of installation of lighting devices at their required power levels may be invisible or barely noticeable.

EFFECT: technical result is providing a control system for controlling lighting devices of a lighting system, which provides a reduced probability of blowing fuses or damage to elements of the lighting system.
