FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radar ranging, in particular, to the helicopter type aircraft landing site selection, and can be used for safe landing of the helicopter-type aircraft on the unprepared snow-covered platform in the conditions of insufficient informativity of the external environment on the underlying surface. For this purpose, in case of snow cover, additionally determining the depth of snow cover, the slope of the earth surface in each reception sector, comparing them with given values and decision is made for aircraft landing in absence of obstacles, depth of snow cover and slope of earth surface are less than specified in all sectors.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase the probability of selecting a site by determining the depth of the snow cover and the slope of the landing site earth surface.
