FIELD: radio location.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio location and can be used in development of systems for safe landing of a helicopter-type aerial vehicle (HTAV) on a body of water with a snow and ice cover under conditions of insufficient information content of the external environment on the underlying surface. The apparatus is comprised of an antenna system consisting of a set of transceiver antennas installed on board in sectors α=2π/M, wherein M is the amount of the transceiver antennas, and a stationary transceiver antenna directed vertically downwards, connected via an antenna switch to a common transceiver apparatus, an analogue-to-digital converter, a microprocessor system, and a decision-making unit. The antennas of the complex are made deviating from the vertical by an angle β=arctgR/hHTAV, wherein R is the radius of the landing area, hHTAV is the hovering height of the helicopter-type aerial vehicle. A complex of transceiver antennas with vertical and horizontal polarisation and a unit for determination of the state (identification) of the layers of the underlying surface are additionally introduced into the antenna system. An additional set of transceiver antennas is installed on board in sectors α=0; 2π, deviating from the vertical by an angle γ=25°…45° with the centre of the DP matching with the centre of the DP of the stationary transceiver antenna directed vertically downwards.
EFFECT: invention is an increase in the probability of selection of a landing site for a helicopter-type aerial vehicle on a body of water with a snow and ice cover.
