FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for hydrocracking heavy oils and oil residues. Described is a method for hydrotreatment of heavy oils and/or oil residues, involving: (a) contacting heavy oils and/or oil residues with a non-metallised carbonaceous additive in the presence of a hydrogen-containing gas at temperature of 250 °C to 600 °C; wherein the non-metallised carbonaceous additive is characterized by an average pore size of 2 nm to 10 nm; wherein the method further comprises the steps of: (i) contacting the non-metallised carbon-containing material with the oxygen-containing gas at a temperature of at least 120 °C to form a non-metallised carbonaceous additive before step (a); and (ii) contacting the non-metallised carbonaceous material or acid additive before step (a).
EFFECT: technical result is improved efficiency of the method.
