FIELD: methods and devices for metal processing.

SUBSTANCE: machine comprises: working element (12) with focusing device (18) configured to focus the laser beam on surface of pipe or profile (T) to be processed, carriage (26), on which working member (12) is installed, and scanning system (20) configured to scan at least one section of the pipe cross-section or profile (T) contour. Carriage (26) is movable relative to the pipe or profile (T) both in the longitudinal direction (x) coinciding with the longitudinal axis of the pipe (T) or the profile (T), and in the transverse direction (y). Scanning system (20) comprises at least one laser scanning module (20) comprising laser emitter (22) configured to emit a light beam (L), and camera (24) configured to obtain a pipe or profile (T) image illuminated by the light beam (L). Working member (12) and at least one laser scanning module (20) are mounted on carriage (26) so as to be coupled with possibility of transferring driving force for movement of said carriage (26) both in longitudinal direction (x) and transverse direction (y).
