FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of the pipe 3D shape. Appropriate device comprises the pipe retainer structure and the pipe shape meter. Said retaining structure has at least two mounts to support the pipe from inside that fit in the pipe appropriate ends for pipe holdback at preset points of the pipe inner wall. Note here that said preset points of the pipe inner all are located in the area of Bessel points, preferably, are aligned with the Bessel points on the pipe mounts. The pipe shape meter is suitable for contactless measurement of the pipe shape. Note also that the pipe and shape meter can slide relative to each other over the pipe entire length. Claimed device implements the claimed pipe shape measurement process.

EFFECT: shape measurement with due allowance for temperature influence.
