SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mainline pipeline transport. Method of mechanical separation of liquid hydrocarbons sequentially pumped via main pipeline and device for its implementation includes technology of input of mechanical separator into internal cavity of main pipeline, performing successive transfer of two liquid hydrocarbons, technology of removing mechanical separator from inner cavity of main pipeline, main pipeline, starting and receiving chambers, in which the starting and receiving capsules are respectively stored, to the rear part of each of which a pusher is connected, a mechanical separator with a spiral corrugation and a sealing spiral, placed respectively into the launching or receiving capsules, bypass pipeline connected to rear part of launching and receiving chambers, respectively.
EFFECT: invention can be used for successive pumping of liquid hydrocarbons using a mechanical separator.
