FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method of controlling a hydrogen source based on magnesium hydride involves the following actions: heating the hydrogen generation zone to a predetermined initial temperature of 90–170 °C; determining initial value of water flow rate; feeding water into the hydrogen formation zone in accordance with the initial water flow rate value; measuring parameter characterizing formation of hydrogen; if the value of this parameter is higher than the first preset value, water supply to the hydrogen formation zone is reduced, if the value of this parameter is lower than the second predetermined value, the water supply to the hydrogen formation zone is increased.
EFFECT: disclosed invention provides accurate and reliable control of flow and pressure of hydrogen obtained in a reactor based on magnesium hydride.
