FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. To diagnose various stages of pigment and pigmentless pigment retinitis, spectral OCT is performed to determine thickness of choroid and various layers of retina. That is combined with scotopic and/or maximum ERG and macular ERG (MERG). At normal thickness of choroid and all layers of retina, reduction of amplitude of a- and b-waves of scotopic and maximal ERG and normal MERG, initial stage is determined. If the thickness of the choroid and the thickness of the layer, including the outer segments of the photoreceptors and the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), and the layer including the inner segments of the photoreceptors and the outer nuclear layer, reduce the amplitude of a- and b-waves of scotopic and/or maximum ERG, and in subnormal MERG average stage is determined. If the thickness of the choroid is decreased, the thickness of the layer including the outer segments of the photoreceptors and the RPE, the layer including the inner segments of the photoreceptors and the outer nuclear layer, reducing the thickness of the retinal ganglion cells, in the absence of scotopic and/or maximum ERG, abnormal sub-normal MERG or unreported MERG, a severe stage is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of determining the stage of developing the disease for subsequent prediction of the course and prognosis for offspring of the proband.
