SUBSTANCE: detecting and tracing features within range data from sensors. Tracing parameters are calculated for each of the features, wherein the tracking parameters include tracking time and detection coherence or position variability. Attribute is classified as matching the foliage based on the tracking period, which falls below the threshold value or the detection coherence, which falls below the threshold value of consistency, or variability of the position exceeding the threshold value of variability. Driving manoeuvre for vehicle is determined based on classification of feature and providing a manoeuvre when driving on an automated driving/assisting driving system for carrying out a vehicle. Also disclosed are a foliage detection system and a non-temporal machine-readable data storage medium.
EFFECT: detection of foliage is achieved.
