FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing a polyester from a cyclic ester monomer, as well as to a condensed phase composition for producing a polyester. Said method of producing polyester from cyclic ester monomer includes a) obtaining a cyclic ester and b) polymerising a cyclic ester in the presence of a catalyst and optionally an initiator in a reactor to form a reaction mixture. Reaction mixture contains a polyester and unreacted cyclic ester. After polymerisation, at least one polymerisation inhibitor is added to the reaction mixture. Polymerisation inhibitor is selected from a group of phosphoric esters corresponding to general formula (I) , where at least one of R', R'' and R''' has common structure, as in general formula (II) , where n>0 and Q is independently C1-16 a linear alkyl group, and R independently denotes a linear alkyl group, and where any of R', R'' and R''', having no general structure, as in general formula (II), independently denotes H.

EFFECT: said method helps to completely and reliably avoid conversion of a cyclic ester monomer and thereby obtain a polymer of excellent quality, particularly appearance, and completely and reliably avoid contamination or deposition of the polymerisation inhibitor and decomposition products thereof in the apparatus and especially in the degassing section of the apparatus.
