FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to liquid-cooled systems of stationary internal combustion engines (ICE), mainly included in motor benches, and can be used for testing of engines in factory conditions, in repair organizations, in research institutions and in educational institutions. Internal combustion engine cooling system includes internal closed cooling liquid circulation circuit, which includes bypass channel 5 with controlled valves 6, 7 and external open water supply circuit through controlled valve 16 to liquid heat exchanger 10. Distinctive feature of cooling system is design of liquid heat exchanger 10, which is open from above reservoir 17 for water, divided into two insulated cavities additionally introduced radiator 9, with seal 18 along inner surface of heat exchanger reservoir. In one of the insulated cavities of reservoir 17 of heat exchanger 10 there is distributor 19 of water supply to radiator 9, in the other cavity there is unit 20 to maintain the specified level of water in reservoir, which provides complete immersion into water of cooling surface of radiator 9. Control of operation of cooling system is provided by control unit 21, through controlled valves 6, 7 and controlled valve 16 according to results of cooling liquid temperature measurement by temperature sensors 22 and 23.
EFFECT: invention provides higher efficiency of cooling of engine and wider temperature range of control due to creation of conditions providing higher heat transfer in heat exchanger, and reduction of water flow in external circulation circuit.
