SUBSTANCE: invention relates to networks of block chains. Method includes: obtaining, by means of a client node, a first instance of a chain of blocks, a domain name chain of blocks of a second, another instance of a chain of blocks, wherein domain name of chain of blocks is a unique identifier of second instance of chain of blocks in unified network of chains of blocks, domain name of the chain of blocks uniquely corresponds to the chain identifier for the second instance of the chain of blocks; identifying the chain identifier for the second block chain instance based on the block chain domain name for the second block chain instance, wherein the chain identifier for the second block chain instance indicates the network configuration of the block chains for the second block chain instance; accessing, through a client node, to the second block chain instance based on the block chain network configuration indicated by the chain identifier for the second block chain instance.
EFFECT: technical result is improved security for cross-chain communication based on a unified domain name.
