FIELD: microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiology and aims at simulating the dormant status of M. tuberculosis in vitro. Modeling method consists in generating a dormant phenotype of tuberculosis mycobacteria in a liquid nutrient medium in conditions of deprivation of components required for complete growth and reproduction of M. tuberculosis in vitro. Dormant state of M. tuberculosis is achieved in interval between 4 and 11 days of cultivation of tuberculosis mycobacteria in modified Mediumbrook 7H9 medium containing sodium hydrophosphate (Na2HPO4), potassium dihydrophosphate (KH2PO4), ammonium sulphate ((NH4)2SO4), L-glutamic acid (C5H9NO4), sodium citrate (Na3C6H5O7), magnesium sulphate (MgSO4), iron(III)-ammonium citrate (Fe(NH4)3(C6H5O7)2), zinc sulphate (ZnSO4), copper(II) sulphate (CuSO4), pyridoxine (C8H11NO3), biotin (C10H16N2O3S), calcium chloride (CaCl2), glycerol (C3H8O3), Tween-80 (C64H124O26) and distilled water.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the method and can be used in experimental and clinical mycobacteriological studies.
