SUBSTANCE: invention relates to investigation of materials using magnetic means. Method for high-speed magnetic flaw detection of long items comprises steps of magnetizing a controlled article of a magnetization system moving relative to article, deflections of magnetic field above defective section of item are fixed by means of magnetosensitive sensor, sliding on scanned surface of article behind magnetization system at certain distance from it, wherein article magnetization is carried out by dipole magnet, determining the polarity of signals fixed by sensor, taking into account of which signals of inner and surface defects of article are divided.

EFFECT: improving reliability and reliability of flaw detection of an article.
