FIELD: defectoscopy.
SUBSTANCE: use: for nondestructive inspection of railway rails, pipes and other rolled products by magnetic method. Summary of invention consists in the fact that magnetization device for non-destructive testing means of long items comprises two identical disc-like magnets and a flange disc, installed coaxially, magnets are facing each other with like poles, additionally comprises magnetic conductor in the form of a disk installed between magnets with possibility of rolling along the scanned surface of the controlled article, diameter of magnetic conductor exceeds diameters of disk magnets, coaxially with two magnets, central magnetic conductor and disk with flange, on second side of device there is a second identical disc with flange, all three discs are made of soft magnetic material, at that surfaces of flanges facing side sides of the article are adapted to shapes of side surfaces of the inspected article.
EFFECT: high efficiency and reliability of detecting defects (including longitudinal orientation) in ferromagnetic long products owing to high efficiency of article magnetization in areas of formation of defects.
