Method comprises stages, at which a transmitting device from data of a unit of transmitted data forms a sequence of Ethernet packets, which contain respectively administrative data and a partial unit of transmitted data which is formed from at least a portion of the data such that the partial blocks of the transmitted data of the Ethernet packets of the sequence comprise data of the transmitted data block, wherein the administrative data comprises such administrative data, from which is set, whether one of the Ethernet packets is the last Ethernet packet of the sequence, and the transmitting device sends the formed Ethernet packets through an Ethernet connection to the receiving device, wherein in the method, the receiving device receives Ethernet packets of the corresponding sequence and using at least part of administrative data writes partial transfer data units into storage device.
