FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of process condensate in ammonia synthesis plant. Method is carried out in an ammonia synthesis plant comprising a head section which generates make-up gas by reforming hydrocarbon material and a synthesis section, where ammonia is obtained from make-up gas, wherein process condensate (1) collected from one or more ammonia synthesis apparatus is an aqueous solution containing ammonia, carbon dioxide and methanol. Besides, process condensate is stripped in stripping medium with low pressure steam (4) to obtain vapour phase (5) containing ammonia, carbon dioxide and methanol recovered from process condensate; condensing the vapour phase to obtain condensed solution (11) with high content of ammonia and methanol; returning first portion (12) of condensed solution (11) into the stripping medium by reintroducing it directly into the stripping medium; second portion (13) of condensed solution (11), which is not more than 4 vol. % of condensed solution (11), is recirculated into ammonia synthesis plant.
EFFECT: technical result consists in development of processing method of process condensate, which does not require expensive equipment operating at high pressure, in which polluting emissions are excluded.
