SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a mixed polyethylene composition. Method involves mixing a polyethylene composition and sodium bicarbonate, maintaining specific power consumption (SEI) at a level of Y kWh/t or less, where Y equals 200. Mixed composition of polyethylene has density from 930 to 965 kg/m³ and contains at least 0.01 wt. % of sodium bicarbonate after compounding the mixed polyethylene composition. Ratio between sodium bicarbonate in the polyethylene composition before and after compounding is X, wherein X₁ ≤ X < X₂, and X₁ represents value of 1.00, and X₂ represents value 2.00.

EFFECT: preservation of specific energy supplied in method according to invention at low level makes it possible to mix sodium bicarbonate with polyethylene only with partial loss of sodium bicarbonate, which makes it possible to use it for foaming of composition at subsequent stages of method, for example, cable extrusion.
