FIELD: foamed polymer.

SUBSTANCE: present invention is related to the group of inventions including foamed polymer composition for cable and cable. Foamed polymer composition for cable, obtained by foaming an expandable polymer composition which contains the first polyolefin polymer, the second polyolefin polymer and a mineral nucleating agent in the amount of 0.5-6 wt.% of the total mass of the expandable polymer composition. The second polyolefin polymer has an MFR2 value of (2.16 kg; 190°C), equal to 2-15 g/10 min. The first polyolefin polymer has a higher density than the second polyolefin polymer. The first polyolefin polymer is present in an amount of 20-95% by weight based on the total weight of the expandable polymer composition. The second polyolefin polymer is present in an amount of 5-80% by weight based on the total weight of the expandable polymer composition. Foaming is carried out in presence of a gas-forming agent. The foamed polymer composition has an average cell diameter from 5 to 500 microns. The cable contains at least one layer containing this foamed polymer composition.

EFFECT: development of a foamed polymer composition having a reduced density, and at the same time a high cell density, small cells evenly distributed in the foamed polymer, and an improved, that is, low, dissipation coefficient.
