SUBSTANCE: absorbent article includes a stretchable sheet which is a laminate of a non-stretchable first sheet layer, a non-stretching second sheet layer and an elastic film disposed between the first and second sheet layers, and the elastic film stretches at least in the forward-backward direction. First sheet layer is connected to the second sheet layer by a large number of connections directly or through an elastic film, and connections are located with intervals. Stretching sheet is compressed under action of compression force of the elastic film and can be stretched under action of the applied external force in the front-back direction. Foot part Z is also compressed under action of compression force of the elastic film and can be stretched under action of applied external force in direction of width. Foot parts and sections adjoining the foot parts have different portions of the joint area and thus have different tensile stresses.
EFFECT: disclosed is an absorbent article comprising a stretchable sheet having an expanding portion that has different tensile stresses depending on positions.
