FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space engineering, namely to hand-held tools used by cosmonaut in space. Hand instrument used by the cosmonaut in a space suit is in form of a rod. Brackets parallel to each other and perpendicular to rod axis are fitted on rod by means of terminal connections. Non-metallic coating is applied on the rod between the terminal connections. Between the brackets tension spring is stretched, wound tangentially coil to coil. Distance between the core and spring is 8–10 % less than the thickness of the palm part of the inflated space-suit glove. Spring is placed in a fabric cover fixed on brackets. Inside the spring there is a cord-limiter fixed in points of its attachment. Length of the restraining cord is equal to the length of the spring stretched when the handle is gripped with a brush in a inflated glove. Length of jacket exceeds distance between brackets.
EFFECT: higher safety, efficiency, reliability and ergonomics of using hand tools.
