FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transport and power engineering, particularly, to internal combustion engine control systems. Disclosed is a method of controlling internal combustion engine (3) operating on main and alternative fuel, including measurement of parameters of engine operating modes using a plurality of sensors, transmitting sensor signals to microprocessor controller (6), generating fuel flow control signals based thereon, selecting control signals depending on fuel type, feeding control signals to actuating metering device (2 and 10) of corresponding fuel into engine. Additional sensors measure pressure (4 and 11) and temperature (5 and 12) of fuel at inlet of fuel metering actuators, check serviceability of additional sensors by comparing their readings with values recorded in microprocessor controller. If additional sensors are sound, then according to readings of additional sensors in microprocessor controller there calculated is correcting coefficient, by means of which control signal is changed to increase or decrease fuel flow through actuating devices of fuel dosing.

EFFECT: high accuracy of dosing fuel into an internal combustion engine.
