FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless data transmission between vehicles and external infrastructure, namely to battery-operated content downloading device for a vehicle entertainment system. For this, the device includes a multi-mode wireless communication module having at least a first communication mode and a second communication mode, a controller which establishes a communication channel between the remote content server and the multi-mode wireless communication module to receive multimedia content from the remote content server, and selects either of two modes or both communication modes, at least in part based on access point accessibility assessment for first communication mode in access area. Device also has a data storage device storing the obtained multimedia content, a rechargeable electric energy storage device which supplies power in response to the vehicle disconnection. At that, after switching on electric system of vehicle, controller copies multimedia content stored on data storage device to content server of entertainment system.
EFFECT: technical result is simple process of updating content on a server of a vehicle.
