FIELD: image forming devices.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the electrophotographic image forming device (imaging device) and to the cartridge removably mounted in the image forming device main unit. Disclosed process cartridge detachably mounted in the main unit of the electrophotographic image forming device includes a photosensitive drum, developing roller made with possibility of contacting and arranged with a gap relative to said photosensitive drum, input element for receiving of driving force for rotation of said developing roller by means of connection with output element provided in main unit, and a control mechanism for changing the relative position between said input element and the output element in a state where said process cartridge is mounted in the main assembly, wherein said control mechanism is configured (a) to change, in response to said arrangement of developing roller with a gap from said photosensitive drum, said relative position to position, in which said input element and output element can be disconnected, and (b) changing, in response to said proximity of the developing roller to said photosensitive drum, said relative position to a position in which said input element and output element can be connected to each other.
