EXPANDABLE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F2/16

Abstract RU 2708958 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Implanted devices have expandable reservoirs for delayed release of therapeutic agents. Device is made with possibility of at least partial implantation into eye and contains retaining structure and permeable element connected with and passing inside at least part of retaining structure. Porous drug release mechanism is placed in the fluid communication with the device outlet; and a reservoir which has a volume configured to enclose one or more therapeutic agents is in fluid communication with the outlet through a porous drug release mechanism. Device is at least partially installed along plant axis. Reservoir increases from the installation configuration, which has the first three-dimensional geometrical shape, to the expanded configuration, which has the second three-dimensional geometrical shape, the second three-dimensional geometric shape is located eccentrically relative to the plant axis.

EFFECT: application of the given group of inventions will allow to maximize volume of the reservoir and capacity, at the same time to minimize general invasiveness of the device and influence on anatomy of eyes and sight.
