FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an organic hydrophobic X-based gel based on isocyanate, having water-repellent properties and a contact angle with water >90°. Xerogel contains a cross-linked porous mesh structure consisting of polyurethane and/or polyisocyanurate and/or polyurea and hydrophobic compounds having solubility in water of less than 10 g/l. Hydrophobic compounds are covalently bonded in a xerogel porous network. Method of producing the hydrophobic xerogel involves preparing a polyisocyanate composition, preparing a solvent composition, obtaining hydrophobic compounds, combining the compositions and compounds, drying the porous mesh to obtain (super)hydrophobic X-based gel based on isocyanate. Said bonds are formed during gelation step of cross-linked porous mesh structure of isocyanate-based organic xerogel.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the method, improves hydrophobicity of the porous articles.
