SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy. The piston assembly of the injection molding machine contains a piston (9) and a rod (1) connected to each other by means of a thread, with cavities, channels and working windows for the refrigerant. The hollow shank (4), connected by thread to the outer surface of the rod and bolted to it, is made to pass into a disk (7) with windows open into the cavity of the shank, placed without gaps between the ends of the piston and the rod. Inclined transverse windows are made in the disk. On the side surface of the piston in the area of the threaded connection with the rod in the large cavity, longitudinal windows are made, separated by walls from the bottom of the thread, the beginnings of which are located at the bottom of the large cavity of the piston, and the ends are open into an annular groove in the small cavity of the piston. The annular groove of the small cavity of the piston is opened into the middle annular groove between the side surfaces of the piston and the disk, made with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the rod thread. The middle annular groove (10) is connected to the front annular groove (11) on the part of the side surface of the piston ending with its bottom by longitudinal grooves of the disk, the diameter of which in this part of the small cavity of the piston is equal to the diameter of the small cavity of the piston.
