SUBSTANCE: invention relates to casting, namely to injection molding. Piston unit of the injection molding machine comprises a piston connected to a rod in the longitudinal channel of which a tube with a sealing element at the rear end is installed, a disc with a hollow shank disposed without gaps between the ends of the piston and the stem, the shank is connected inseparably with the front end of the tube and the external thread with the front end of the rod and fixed with a pin, the disk has rear transverse windows extending into the shank cavity, and in the rod, rear transverse windows are formed that extend into its longitudinal channel, the conical bottom and into the annular groove with the sealing element. Between the lateral surfaces of the disc, piston and rod, an annular gap is formed into which the annular groove is open, and between the front end of the rod and the annular groove on the stem or on the rear of the disk, a ring protrusion, supported on the side surface of the piston cavity, is provided with longitudinal grooves, the connection of the rod to the piston along the thread is made behind the annular groove and a nut is installed on the stem, resting against the rear end of the piston.

EFFECT: reliability of the pressing unit and the resistance of the piston are improved due to cooling it around the perimeter.
