FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control over technological processes and concerns an infrared-spectroscopic method of controlling quality of precursors for orientation drawing of film threads from ultrahigh molecular polyethylene. Method includes directing a light stream to a precursor, receiving and transmitting a scattered light in the wavelength range of 1,000–25,000 nm on an infrared Fourier-transform spectrophotometer and forming a scattering spectrum. Scattering spectrum is formed by subtracting from a transmission spectrum of a monolithic sample of ultrahigh molecular polyethylene of the transmission spectrum of a disperse sample of equal thickness. Distribution of disperse particles by sizes is obtained by differentiating the scattering spectrum. By analyzing the size of dispersed particles and their location in the disperse material, the nature of the defects is determined and a control action on the process parameters of the precursors production process is formed.
EFFECT: high degree of reproducibility and quality of precursors.
