FIELD: chemistry of high-molecular compounds.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing reactor powder of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene with a special morphology and nanostructure, suitable for processing by direct solution-free solid-phase technology into ultra-high-strength and ultra-high-modulus products—tapes and threads, characterized by that ethylene polymerisation is carried out in an aromatic solvent using a catalyst—a post-metallocene halide complex of titanium (IV) and a combined organometallic activator consisting of a mixture of aluminum and organomagnesium compounds, wherein ethylene is fed into the reactor by means of a bubbler, the lower edge of which is lowered by 2/3 of the height of the reactor, is mixed with a turbine-type mixer at rate of 270–330 rpm.

EFFECT: simplification and increase of manufacturability of method of producing reactor powder of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene with special morphology and nanostructure, suitable for processing by direct solution-free solid-phase technology into high-strength and high-modulus tapes and threads, using standard reactors with capacity of at least 60 l.
