FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction and can be used to determine durability of red brick masonry. Method for determination of durability of brick masonry at positive temperatures consists in measurement of strength of bricks for compression, grinding of bricks and determination of fraction L of amorphous structure of brick – metakaolin. Then, part of crushed brick is mixed with concentrated solution of calcium hydroxide and held for two months, after which parameter is measured, which characterizes concentration of obtained solution. Calcium hydroxide concentration reduction is used to calculate weight M of calcium hydroxide reacted with brick sample to determine reaction rate W:W=6⋅M/74.3 (mol/year), where M is the weight of the reacted calcium hydroxide, g; 74.3 is molar mass of calcium hydroxide, g/mol; 6 is a conversion factor from two months to a year. Based on obtained values of L and W, durability of brick is determined Θ to complete loss of strength: Θ=2⋅m⋅L⋅250.32⋅W (in years), where 2 is consumption of calcium hydroxide in moles per one mole of metakaolin; m is brick weight in g; 250.32 is molar mass of metakaolin, g/mol. From measured value of strength of bricks for compression at zero moment of time and by durability Θ before complete loss of strength, linear dependence of compression strength on time against bricks is determined, and durability of brick is determined to preset reduction in strength.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of determining durability of brickwork.
