FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for production of powdered zeolite type A, used in chemical, petrochemical and oil refining industry as an additive (matrix) in production of synthetic detergents, as well as for softening process water. Method involves preparing sodium hydroxide solution, heating to temperature of 100 °C and stirring, calcining aluminosilicate kaolin for transition into metakaolin, suspending metakaolin in water and adding obtained suspension to sodium hydroxide solution while stirring and holding for 3-9 hours at temperature of 90-150 °C to obtain zeolite NaA, wherein synthesis of zeolite NaA is carried out in an alkaline solution with concentration of 1.1-4.8 mol/l in molar ratio of metakaolin to sodium hydroxide 1:(3-7), at ratio of volume of alkali solution to mass of metakaolin not less than 5, after synthesis of zeolite is filtered, washed and dried.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a zeolite with high sorption capacity, low cost of obtained product and wider range of zeolite adsorbents of NaA type.
