FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to enzymology, biotechnology and medical industry, specifically to a method of producing colored collagen in order to use it as a substrate for determining collagenase enzyme activity, comprising collagen milling to particle size of not more than 2 mm with moisture content of not more than 8.0 %, followed by treatment with a RO16 dye solution, characterized by absorption spectrum maxima at 210±3; 288±2; 360±2; 480±2 nm, with pH of suspension in range of 6.3–7.5.
EFFECT: present invention provides obtaining a substrate for determining specific activity of collagenase-collagen, chemically bound to RO16 dye, suitable for determining specific activity of drugs based on collagenase from Clostridium histolyticum.
