FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to experimental ophthalmology, and can be used to simulate recurrent corneal erosion experimentally. Biomicroscopic control of micromanipulation and preliminary local installation and retrobulbar anesthesia are performed. At the first stage of the surgery, total corneal de-epithelialization is performed, the quality of which is assessed by 2 % fluorescin solution. At the second stage, local irradiation of the cornea in the required region for 45 minutes at distance of 5 to 20 cm is performed with the help of a contact diaphragm of the required diameter and a long-wave ultraviolet device with wavelength of 365 nm and power of 90 V, depending on the required total intensity of the clinical manifestations. Method provides standardized experimental modeling of a pathological process by maximally approaching the pathogenesis of recurrent erosion of the cornea and the ability to control the intensity of the final clinical manifestations by changing the distance from the UV apparatus to the corneal surface.
EFFECT: method is based on the destruction of the corneal epithelial basement membrane and adhesive molecules without damaging the Bowman's membrane, due to which the epithelium proliferating from the intact segments loses the possibility of adhesion to the corneal surface in the irradiated region, as a result of which epithelial erosion is maintained for a long time.
