SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology, and can be used for the treatment of corneal defects in limbal cell insufficiency. A soft contact lens is placed on the cornea for 5 days, as a carrier of the bioconstruct. The bioconstruct contains 500 μl of a suspension of minimally manipulated progenitor cells of the buccal epithelium in the amount of 500,000 cells based on lyophilized type 1 collagen. If a large defect persists, the manipulation is repeated.

EFFECT: invention reduces the risk of mutations in cells, accelerates regeneration in the limbal zone, without the use of limbal cell culture and the possibility of using it in both eyes, without the risk of developing iatrogenic limbal cell deficiency in the donor eye.
