FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: cornea is trephined to a depth of an anterior one-third of stroma, and a pocket is formed wherein a bacterial suspension 0.1 ml of the strain of Staphylococcus aureus is introduced. Additionally, the cornea is de-epithelised, and the bacterial suspension is instilled.
EFFECT: simulating keratitis close to clinical practice with eliminated major damage of the cornea that creates the favourable conditions for the study of therapeutic exposure factors in keratitis of various aetiologies.
