METHOD OF TREATING PATIENTS WITH VERTEBRAL COMPRESSION FRACTURES WITH UNDERLYING OSTEOPOROSIS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2709843 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to endocrinology, traumatology and medical rehabilitation. For treatment of patients with osteoporosis complicated with compression vertebral fractures complex of mechanotherapy is provided, which includes consecutive performance of exercises on three training devices. Training device 1 for separate muscles - perform exercises for training of dynamic endurance - sitting, take hold of simulator arms, arms are bent, perform lifting and lowering of pelvis, and exercises for training static endurance - sitting in position, as in rowing, fixing pelvis, bend and pull hands, lift the pelvis and hold the position, count to 24. Training device 2 for transverse muscles - performing exercises for training dynamic endurance - lying on back, legs are bent in knee joints for 90°, lifting and lowering pelvis, perform 24 exercises, and exercises for training static endurance - lying position, fixing pelvis, pull one leg, bend the other, raise pelvis and hold position, count to 24, change foot. Training device 3 for body stabilization in a standing position - performing exercises for training dynamic endurance - standing, upper back and buttocks on shock absorbing pad, arms above head, lifting and lowering pelvis, perform 24 exercises, and exercises for training static endurance - standing, upper back and buttocks on shock absorbing pad, fixing pelvis, lifting and lowering hands with dumbbells, count up to 24. Exercises are performed in simulators for 20–30 minutes, 10 procedures per course. That is followed by an interactive balance therapy on an unstable platform with biological feedback of 7–10 minutes, 5 days a week, on course of 15 procedures and hydrokinesitherapy in fresh water in the pool, at water temperature in pool of 28–30 °C, by performing strength exercises with resistance for back muscles, shoulder girdle and lower extremities, stretching exercises and exercises for coordination training, duration of one lesson is 30–40 minutes, lessons are 5 days a week, and course is 15 procedures.

EFFECT: method promotes higher strength of back muscles, improved standard and coordination motor abilities of patients, reduced pain syndrome, reduced risk of falls, improved quality of life and reduced length of medical rehabilitation ensured by application of complex of mechanotherapy methods.
