FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compression methods for testing capacities of different volume for tightness. Essence: test gas pressure is increased up to preset value. Pressure and temperature of test gas are measured. Relative rate of leakage of temperature stabilization of sample gas and error of its measurement with allowance for period of temperature stabilization of test gas are determined. Said measurements and calculations, as well as the period of temperature stabilization of sample gas, are performed in successive cycles after pressure increase to the specified value. At that, in each new cycle period of temperature stabilization is increased by the specified value. At that, in each cycle of calculations, new measured initial values of pressure and temperature are used until performance of criterion of constancy of relative rate of leakage and error of its measurement in one of cycles of calculations. At that, said constancy criterion determines optimum value of temperature stabilization period.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of tests duration with provision of specified reliability of relative leakage rate determination.
