FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the tobacco industry, to the development of the accelerated method of laboratory studies for determining the weight fraction of insoluble part in tobacco for hookah. Method comprises sampling by sample weight (5±0.5) g, placing it in 500 ml cup into which 200 ml of hot water is poured with temperature of 70–80 °C and holding solution for 30 minutes while stirring periodically, draining the water, washing the insoluble part with cold water until no water coloring, filtering through the pre-dried paper filter, drying filter with insoluble part in microwave oven during 5 minutes, at power 800 W, additional drying in drying cabinet at temperature 100–105 °C for 40 minutes, cooling in desiccator for 15 minutes, weighing, determining the weight fraction of insoluble part X, %, by formula: , where: m1 – weight of tobacco charge for hookah, g; m2 – mass of tray and filter with insoluble part of tobacco for hookah after drying, g; m3 is weight of tray and filter before drying, g.

EFFECT: reduced duration of analysis due to shorter drying time of filter with insoluble residue.
