FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of water-oil emulsions, in particular to systems and methods for separation of water-oil emulsions using high-frequency (HF) and super-high frequency (SHF) radiation. System for electromagnetic phase separation of water-oil emulsion contains flow-through SHF-chamber with radiators and through channel made of material transparent for microwave radiation, having inlet and outlet for emulsion, and a flowing HF-chamber, which is a HF-resonator, having an inlet and an outlet for the emulsion. SHF-chamber and HF-chamber are connected in series by flow channel. According to the method, the water content of the emulsion and the value of the index (W), which is determined using the formula: W=(A+R)/P, and characterizes ratio of proportion of asphaltenes (A) and resins (R) to paraffins (P) in oil. Further, water-oil emulsion is successively treated in electromagnetic (HF and SHF) fields in system for electromagnetic phase separation of water-oil emulsion depending on water content and value of W: first in HF-chamber, then in SHF-chamber at W value is more than 2.5 and any water content and at W value less than or equal to 2.5 and water content in emulsion is less than 50 %; first in SHF-chamber, then with HF-chamber at W value less than or equal to 2.5 and water content greater than or equal to 50 %.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of water-oil emulsion separation, acceleration of phase separation process.
