FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting rare and/or rare-earth metal from a chlorination residue during titanium melting. Method involves preliminary separation of the chlorination residue into finer and smaller particles. At that said small particles contain rare and/or rare-earth metal representing one or several metals selected from group consisting of Sc, V, Nb, Zr, Y, La, Ce, Pr and Nd.
EFFECT: method allows reducing the size of the plant for further extraction of said metals.
