FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: used for recycling and neutralization of waste from the chlorination process of titanium-containing concentrates. The method includes draining the spent melt into a hydraulic removal bath, hydroleaching, settling the suspension, separating into pulp and a coarse part of the insoluble residue, draining the coarse part of the insoluble residue, concentrating the pulp by circulation to obtain a solution saturated in chlorides, neutralizing the resulting solution with lime milk, flocculation of the precipitate, filtration and washing the sediment. When draining, the coarsely dispersed part of the insoluble residue is neutralized on a washing tray with the continuous supply of lime milk to the moving stream at a volumetric flow rate of 5-7 m3/h, and water at a volumetric flow rate of 8-13 m3/h.

EFFECT: it is ensured that the coarse part of the insoluble residue is converted into an environmentally friendly form suitable for long-term storage, and environmental pollution is limited by reducing the content of oxides of metals such as zirconium, manganese, chromium, and vanadium in the coarse part of the insoluble residue.
