SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines fuel supply systems. Disclosed are methods and systems for operation of high pressure fuel pump 214, providing high constant pressure of fuel in first fuel rail of direct injection 260 and high variable pressure of fuel in second fuel stage of direct injection 250. Pressure in the fuel injection rail can be increased to a level higher than the pressure created by the fuel feed pump 212 due to the configuration of the fuel system containing the various check valves, pressure relief valves and bypass valve located between inlet of high-pressure injection pump and fuel injection rail into intake channels. Direct injection of constant and variable high pressure can be successfully used to study ballistic conditions of each injector of direct injection.
EFFECT: invention allows improving fuel injection efficiency, reducing fuel supply errors and improving engine characteristics, as well as using one high pressure pump to create constant and variable fuel pressure in fuel stages 260 and 250, respectively.
