FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines fuel supply systems. Disclosed are methods and systems for controlling operation of fuel injectors of an internal combustion engine to reduce knock of nozzles during pressure release from fuel stage of direct injection. Method comprises steps, at which pressure in the fuel injection rail is first significantly reduced by means of a mechanical safety valve of the high pressure pump, and then, only in case of additional pressure unloading in fuel rail, intermittently switch on injector of direct injection for injection of small amount of fuel into engine cylinder.
EFFECT: due to reduced switching frequency and small pulse durations, impact force transmitted from nozzles to cylinder block head is small, and therefore unacceptable knock is reduced, reduced risk of damage to components of fuel system.
