FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, specifically to recombinant production of neuroprotective proteins, and can be used in medicine for treating stroke. Hybrid protein comprising a sequence of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) or an isoform thereof, having neuroprotective activity, to which from the C-terminal is attached directly or through a linker, the sequence SEQ ID NO: 3. Invention also relates to a nucleic acid, a vector, a host cell, a pharmaceutical composition, a method of treating stroke and use based on said protein.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a neuroprotective protein named by the authors "IGF-1-long", characterized by a longer therapeutic effect compared to IGF-1, not fused with an additional domain.
