FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of wear-resistant composite materials by explosive energy and can be used for production of friction pairs. Pressed powder mixtures of nickel (Ni) and 25–30 wt% of tungsten boride (W2B5) are placed in cylindrical ampoules in the form of pipes from austenitic steel and are laid them tightly against each other on a steel base in form of a plate. Auxiliary rods in the form of steel pipes filled with highly-plastic low-melting metal are installed on both sides of the obtained package from cylindrical ampoules. Steel plate with an explosive charge is placed on the surface of the packet from the cylindrical ampoules; the obtained assembly is placed on the ground and explosive pressing is performed by initiating the detonation process in the explosive charge along the packet of ampoules at the specified height and speed of detonation of the explosive charge. Deformed ampoules are subjected to thermal treatment at temperature with subsequent cooling in air.

EFFECT: disclosed method of producing composite materials from steel and mixtures of powders of nickel and tungsten boride; simultaneously producing several all-welded composite materials in form of rods, each of which contains a shell from austenitic steel, and inside it is a high-strength wear-resistant alloy consisting of products of interaction of nickel with boride of tungsten.
