FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a medical device comprising a coating, wherein the coating comprises a first coating layer comprising an oligomerised polyphenol, and a second coating layer comprising a synthetic polymer selected from a vinylpyrrolidone-containing polymer, poly-N-isopropylacrylamide, poly-N-vinylcaprolactam, polyethylene oxide, polyvinyl alcohol, hydroxyethyl cellulose or a synthetic polymer having multiple hydroxyl groups. Synthetic polymer is bonded to oligomerised polyphenol with hydrogen bonds, and the first coating layer is located between the article surface and the second coating layer. Also described is a method of coating a medical device; a medical device comprising a haemostatic coating; method of stimulating coagulation; article comprising a coating containing oligomerised polyphenol; method of stimulating adsorption of a biological macromolecule on the surface of an article; a medical device comprising an inner surface; method of reducing or preventing bacteria sticking on medical device inner surface.
EFFECT: disclosed are coatings on articles comprising a layer of oligomerised polyphenol, and biological methods of use.
